How to Dress

Red Carpet Ready // Oscar Night

Tomorrow is the big day! The Academy Awards! I imagine stars and stylists are spending today making last minute decisions and alterations in preparation for the event.
So let’s dream a little, shall we? Here’s what I would wear if I was walking the Red Carpet tomorrow…

Red Carpet Ready // 3

With all my talk of Award Season, I figure it’s high time I share what I would be wearing if I hit the Red Carpet for and Award Show!
Here are my style picks for the Golden Globes {a little late… but hey.} I wanted to go classic – with a twist. SO – I picked simple accessories, I envision a simple up-do {maybe similar to Amy Pohler’s} and a slight smokey eye.
I picked this Katie Ermilio dress because I love the shape of the skirt, and the short sleeves. I also like the idea of wearing a new designer on the Red Carpet {and HEY it just happen to be featured on R29 today!}!

What do you think Chicasaurs? A Hit or a Miss??

What to Wear // Office Chic

Now that is is December, and officially the Holiday Season, and now that we spend the whole day listening to Christmas music in the office… It feels like a good time to fancy up the work wear, to slip into something a little more festive than unusual – fa la la la la!

Red Carpet Ready // 1

I spend a good amount of my time looking at celebrity fashion – at awards shows, movie premiers, parties etc. After a while a girl gets jealous of all those fancy designer frocks and decides to start a new blog series.
I call it: Red Carpet Ready. The idea is pretty simple – I pick a pretty dress and some accessories that I would wear if I had fancy events to attend. {Or if I just has unlimited funds with which to fill my closet.}

Here’s my first look – a floral fantasy. I’d wear it to a photo call, a fancy brunch – or perhaps for a talk show appearance. I’d keep the accessories simple and let the dress do most of the talking…

How to Dress – Olympics with the Duchess

Alright, it’s official. The name of this blog is now Chicasaurus-Kate. Really –  if you need advice on how to be chic just type Kate Middleton into the closest web browser. Here she is at the Olympics. Looking perfect in a blazer, stripes and wedges…

She wore a similar look watching {well, trying to watch} swimming, but switched up the blue blazer for a red one and the stripes for dots.
You’d think that having a closet full of as many blazers as she does she wouldn’t mind lending a few to me, but for some reason she seems hesitant…. Really Kate? I thought we were BFF?

PS – I have just learned that the red blazer is from Zara. ZARA. KATE – I will let you borrow any of my Zara blazers, can I PLEASE borrow yours? Oh – and here she is doing 2 of my very favorite things – looking chic & watching sailing:
I mean really, who don’t we hang out every day??

How To Dress: Diane Kruger

SO – this crop-top trend has inspired some truly terrifying looks. Not everyone can wear a crop-top, but for some reason the think they can. Here’s an idea – don’t do it. Unless, of course you look like this:

Interview Chic

As you may or may not know, I am currently seeking a new job – not for any big dramatic reasons, it was just time for a change. That said, I have had several opportunities to dress myself up for interviews (always fun, if not a little stressful…) for the most recent, I took some style inspiration from one of my favorite ladies – Miss Kate Middleton. Here’s how it turned out:

I love the look. Simple, chic and stylish. What do you think?

Spots, Dots & Stripes.

I keep seeing stars step out in a mix of black, white, and prints. And I must say – I am loving the bold, graphic mix.

Would you rock this look?
Black, White and Graphic!
