How to Dress // Margot Robbie

I’ve always really liked Sundance, not because of the films, but because it’s a great opportunity for spotting celeb’s winter style. It’s nice to see the non-red-capet, non-LA winter looks that people put together!

Exhibit A: Margot Robbie. Margot’s style tends to be classic, with an edge. She’s a little bit of a fashion risk taker (jumpsuit on the red carpet, that high slit, mixing prints) but she never crosses the line into crazy.

This ensemble at Sundance is a great example. It’s a classic look: sweater and a button down. But the sweater is slightly cropped, her collar is slightly oversized AND she pairs them with leather legging and over the knee boots. Classic, with an edge. I love it.

Real Life Style #27

Well, it’s been a while hasn’t it? I’m excited to be getting back to Real Life Style posts – and I thought my return to the personal style game would be a great time to share a little bit of my fashion philosophy.

I love a good casual look {even for work!}. Jeans and flats are everyday staples – but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to look polished and well put together. I also like to keep things pretty simple, I wear a lot of classic pieces mixed with a few more trendy items. And when I really love something I hold on to it for a long time.

Today’s look is a perfect example! Jeans, a white button down, and a sweater – dressed up with a statement necklace and paired with loafers and a vintage bag that I’ve had forever!!

Foodie Fashionista // Kale + Cashmere

Monday’s always bring a few struggles.

Ugh, I have to get out of bed?
What am I going to wear?
Why is my hair doing this weird curl thing?
Why are there so many other people going the same way I’m going???!?!?!
And then the constant struggle – what’s for lunch??

So let’s try something new this week! We’ll start with a little lunch time inspiration, in the form of a fig & beet salad from Five and Spice and let the gorgeous colors guide our sartorial decisions.

Green and brown and gold with a touch of cream? Not a bad look, huh?

What To Wear // In Transition

According to the calendar it is now spring. However, according to the weather it is still very much winter. This makes me sad. I am sick of the cold, and I am sick of all my winter clothes – so I dreamed up this little ensemble that’s bright and fun – like spring! But that will still look cute with a huge winter jacket, scarf and gloves {also a hat, and probably an umbrella}.

Thinking warm thoughts.

What to Wear // Office Chic

Now that is is December, and officially the Holiday Season, and now that we spend the whole day listening to Christmas music in the office… It feels like a good time to fancy up the work wear, to slip into something a little more festive than unusual – fa la la la la!

Pajama Chic

You know those days that you just don’t want to take off your pajamas? {That’s a lot of days for me… }  And then I spotted these bright sweats at Madewell and thought – huh, maybe I don’t have to. Maybe we can dress them up enough to qualify as real clothes {it is a trend now…}

What do you think – does it work?
